TOUCH WEST LAUNCHES INTO SUPER 14 SEASON

Touch West in collaboration with the Emirates Western Force will be launching the Super 14 Rugby season before the Western Force vs Otago Highlanders game this Friday 2nd February in Perth.

In a strong commitment to promoting the Touch West - Be Active Members Equity Super League, grand finalists from the 2006/07 season Perth Brothers, Northern Districts & Southern Districts will all be playing games in both the men’s and women’s divisions before an expected packed house at Subiaco Oval.

The joint initiative between Rugby WA and Touch West will showcase the game of touch to rugby enthusiasts in Perth whilst also promoting Western Force matches and Membership packages to Touch Football Australia members in the west.

While the players may feel under pressure with the enormity of the crowd, some of the men and women in the middle and on the touchlines will feel right at home after their recent experience of officiating at the World Cup in South Africa.

The match referees are Brendan Antrobus, Tony Arnel, and Grant Hill for the Men’s Open; and John Bedford, Annabelle Connolly and Chris Murray and Women’s Open.

At the completion of the game players and referees involved in the Touch Football matches will be guests of the Western Force for the Australian kick-off for the much anticipated 2007 Super 14 season.
